Why Our Fully Caffeinated Coffees Must Be Extraordinary
Share
Let us be honest. Most of us are mindful of our caffeine intake these days. Whether it is for better sleep, reduced anxiety, or simply a calmer day, more and more coffee lovers are turning to decaf for most of their brews. But that shift means something important. When we do choose to indulge in a cup of fully caffeinated coffee, it better be worth it.
At Frequent Coffee, we take this challenge seriously. Since many of our customers (and ourselves) limit caffeine throughout the day, the small amount of full caf coffee we drink needs to deliver more than just a jolt. It must be delicious, exciting, and memorable. In short, it needs to be exceptional. This blog is all about why your limited caffeine moments should be unforgettable and how we roast coffees that are built to shine in those rare and cherished sips.
The Caffeine Budget
Let us talk numbers. The average adult can safely consume around 400 mg of caffeine per day, according to most health guidelines. That is about three to four cups of coffee. But many people choose to consume less than that ... maybe one or two cups of fully caffeinated coffee, and the rest decaf. Why? Because caffeine, as delightful as it is, can come with side effects if overdone. Sleeplessness, jitters, and anxiety are common issues for the overly caffeinated.
That means we treat our caffeine like a budget. And if you are spending your caffeine allowance, you want it to feel like a worthwhile investment. This is where truly special coffees come into play. You want complexity, flavor, and that incredible aroma that only thoughtfully sourced and roasted coffee can deliver.
Decaf Is the Norm, But Full Caf Is the Treat
Our day-to-day routine might revolve around decaf. At Frequent Coffee, we love our decaf lineup β like the smooth and sweet Sidekick or the balanced and chocolatey Jitterfree Delight. These coffees are built for drinking multiple times a day without the crash.
But when we brew a cup of full caf? That moment is special. It is the reward. The ritual. The treat. And because of that, it cannot be just another cup. It needs to be the kind of cup that makes you pause. That reminds you why you love coffee in the first place.
Meet Break of Dawn and Jam On
We crafted our fully caffeinated offerings with this philosophy in mind. Each full caf coffee we roast is selected with intention and roasted to highlight what makes it shine. Two standouts in our current lineup are:
- Break of Dawn: A smooth, comforting roast with notes of caramel and toasted nuts. It is the kind of coffee that makes your morning peaceful but still energizing. This coffee is perfect for your one full caf moment of the day, offering richness without overpowering your palate.
- Jam On: A natural Ethiopian that bursts with fruity, juicy character. It is vibrant and exciting β a coffee for when you want to be delighted. Think of ripe berries and florals dancing together in a cup. When you only get one full caf coffee a day, this is the kind of cup that leaves a lasting impression.
We also have some other rotating single origins available for special order, just email us to find out more.Β We usually with have a special Ethiopian washed and a washed Sumatran or PNG.
We Only Drink the Best
As roasters, we drink a lot of coffee. But most of it is decaf. That is how much we believe in the balance and beauty of low caffeine. So when we do sip on the high octane stuff, it is always something we are proud of. We taste test every roast, obsess over profiles, and cup relentlessly. If it does not blow us away, it does not make it into your cup.
We also know our customers are just as discerning. Many of you have told us that you drink mostly decaf but always look forward to your one daily fully caffeinated brew. We take that feedback seriously. It is not just about the caffeine content. It is about creating something that is worthy of your trust, time, and taste buds.
Why Quality Matters Even More
Here is a fun truth: when you drink less caffeine, you actually taste your coffee more. With lower stimulation, your palate is more receptive. That means any flaws in a lower quality full caf coffee are going to stand out even more. But the good news? The opposite is true too. A beautifully roasted, clean, and vibrant coffee will sing even louder in a body that is not overwhelmed with caffeine.
That is why we make sure our full caf offerings meet the same high standards as our beloved decafs. No shortcuts. No generic blends with cheap coffee as filler (each of the coffees in our blend is specialty grade and great on it's own) . Just carefully sourced, roasted, and tested beans that we believe will elevate your day.
Final Thoughts
If you are like us and sipping decaf all day, your fully caffeinated moment is a highlight. Make it count. Whether you are easing into the morning or enjoying a mid day boost, choose a cup that feels special. Choose something that sparks joy, invites reflection, or just makes your taste buds dance.
At Frequent Coffee, we make every cup count. Our full caf line is roasted with the same care, curiosity, and commitment as our decafs. Because when you are only having one, it should be the best one.
