This one's for the flavor hunters and the decaf diehards. It is more subtle than our other special edition decaf coffees. Vergel Estate Natural Anaerobic is a natural decaf that’s got more personality than most fully leaded coffees. Grown at El Vergel Estate in the lush hills of Tolima, Colombia, this coffee comes from a duo of Red and Yellow Caturra cherries, processed with care and decaffeinated using the Sugarcane EA method. Notes of black currant, cranberry, cacao, coconut, honey, citric acid, and orange. Don't expect a "fruit bomb" though as this coffee drinks more like a black honey process.
This natural coffee has a strong flavor, without going over the top like many "innovative" coffees.
*NOTE: due to the natural processing and EA decaffeination, this coffee will appear very dark on the exterior even though it is roasted very light and delicately. Don't judge a book by its cover.

Better Coffee, No Snobbery
We’re serious about flavor, not about fancy jargon. Great coffee that’s easy to enjoy. Simple as that.
Delicious. Love this on a flat bottom brewer/basket. Reminds me of a "comfort coffee," but not bitter or ashy whatsoever.
Thanks, Sean!
Nice pour over decaf. Not as exotic as other anaerobic coffee I've had in the past
Thanks for the feedback!
First time buying from Frequent and had pretty high hopes. I know typically roasting decaf is more challenging, but this one was very dark even for specialty coffee standards. After extraction, it’s not terrible, but lost a lot of acidity and notes I would expect. Not sure if this is expected across all their coffees, as I also bought their watermelon coferment which was definitely on the darker side as well, but. It as bad as this one.
Thank you!
Surprisingly dark
I will say that this one was surprisingly dark for a light roast, but it was still incredibly good. I was making it at 205° at a 1:15G Coffee to Water ratio with a V60 pour over. In hindsight, I’d recommend dropping the temperature a bit on this one to dial back the heavier flavors.
Regardless, I couldn’t stop my self from making multiple second cups daily.
Thanks so much for the review! We appreciate it 😎
