From the fertile slopes of Huila, Colombia, this extraordinary single-origin and single-varietal decaf coffee showcases the craft of producers Jhoan Vergara and Néstor Lasso at Beneficio Peñas Blancas. The cherries undergo a meticulous thermal shock-washed anaerobic process, a technique that uses controlled temperature shifts to lock in fruit esters and bright aromatics before decaffeination. The caffeine is then gently removed through the Swiss Water® Process; pure water, temperature, and time, preserving every note of this Pink Bourbon’s complex profile.
The result is a unique decaf coffee that tastes alive, bursting with notes of pink grapefruit, strawberry, guava, and lemongrass. Sweet, silky, and layered, it carries a tropical sparkle and an elegant finish that lingers long after the cup is gone.

How to Brew
Grind fresh just before brewing. This coffee shines in pour-over (V60) or immersion methods like the French Press or AeroPress. Use slightly hotter water, around 96 °C / 205 °F, to draw out its citrus and guava sweetness. Adjust extraction to taste: a longer brew highlights berry jam, while a faster draw reveals more lemongrass and sparkle.

About the Process
The Swiss Water® Process removes caffeine using only clean water, time, and filtration. No chemicals, no shortcuts. It protects the flavor molecules that give Pink Bourbon its distinct tropical clarity, leaving behind a cup that feels indulgent yet calm.

Unless someone told me I would never guess this was decaf. I'm drinking my 2nd cup 8 days off roast and dare I say this is I'm my top 5 of all coffees. It just dances on the tongue. The bright juicy acidity I am always chasing. Clean finish. Nice body. You gotta try this one!

Excellent decaf! All were really fruity and interesting, 10/10 would order again!

Clearly these people know how to roast and the fact they’ve sourced such incredible decaf has made me incredibly happy.

Better Coffee, No Snobbery
We’re serious about flavor, not about fancy jargon. Great coffee that’s easy to enjoy. Simple as that.
Great light roast with a complex taste. One of the most delicious decafs I have tried. I do pourover at 176F.
I've struggled to find decaf coffee that doesn't taste slightly off and this is the first that I've tried that taste very close to a normal caf coffee. As a V60 using the Frequent brew guide, It has a very sweet berry flavor and a satisfying chocolate finish. I tried it about 7 days off roast and it was perfection.
We're stoked to hear that. Thanks for the review!
I recently switched over to decaf and I've been struggling to find anything beyond the typical medium to dark roasted chocolate/caramel profiles. I'm in Seattle and even here most local roasters only carry one sort of boring decaf option. I was super happy to find Frequent and so far am really impressed with the quality. This coffee in particular is juicy, has some really nice sweetness and acidity, and the guava and strawberry notes come through clearly. Having a great time with this one and it's a relief to know switching to decaf doesn't have to mean giving up what I loved about coffee in the first place.
Jen, thanks so much for the nice review and for the support. We appreciate you 🙌
As the title says, one of the better decafs I’ve ever had. Thankful for Frequent Coffee to have come in to existence!!
Thanks so much, Ian!
I am a lover of pourover who had to switch to Decaf on doctor's orders and had been settling for dirt tasting garbage until I heard about this place on Reddit. This is a phenomenal brew and I look forward to try more varietals!
Thanks for the kind words, Tim! We appreciate you.
